Eolica Expo Mediterranean 2010

Intergroup, the logistics platform of the Port Network of Rome and Lazio, will take part in “ZEROEMISSION ROME”, the most important event for companies dealing with the development of renewable energy sources, that is now celebrating its sixth edition.

The event will be held on September 7 at Rome Exhibition Centre, that is situated a short distance from "Leonardo da Vinci" International Airport and is easily accessible by both train, public means of transport and car. This three-day event will be dedicated to the different sectors of green economy: From electricity to wind energy and emissions trading; CCS (Carbon Capture and Storage); photovoltaic systems; solar thermal collectors and related technologies; renewable energy solutions for farmers; sustainable liquid biofuels industry and technology.

Intergroup will also take part in “EOLICA EXPO MEDITERRANEAN 2010”, the most important international event in Italy dealing with the wind energy sector. Notwithstanding the international crisis, 2009 edition gathered over 200 companies (+30% compared with 2008), the exhibition space was almost double the size of the previous one and there was a considerable increase of contract manufacturers, service companies and mini wind turbines manufacturers.
EOLICA EXPO MEDITERRANEAN, that is now celebrating its 8th edition, will be back in Rome from September 7 to 9, 2010. It aims at occupying a leading position in the international trade fair calendar, since it attracts a record number of both visitors and exhibitors (40% of them coming from a foreign country) and has become the third largest trade show in Europe, the fifth most important exhibition in the world and the undisputed leader in the Mediterranean Basin.
EOLICA EXPO MEDITERRANEAN 2010 will be one of the most important events at ZEROEMISSION ROME, the largest event dedicated to renewable energy sources in the Mediterranean Basin, whose 2009 edition gathered 25.400 visitors (compared with 18.000 in 2008) and 400 exhibitors (compared with 300 in 2008), comprised equipped halls offering 30.000 m² of exhibition space (+30% compared with the previous edition) and arranged 56 conventions attended by 377 speakers.

After the grand opening on September 7 on the occasion of EOLICA EXPO MEDITERRANEAN, ZEROEMISSION ROME 2010 will arrange plenty of further events between September 8 and 10: PV ROMEMEDITERRANEAN (photovoltaic systems); CSP EXPO SOLAR TECH (concentrated solar power), CO2 EXPO (emissions trading), CCS EXPO (Carbon Capture and Storage), ECOHOUSE (energy saving),GEOENERGY EXPO (geothermal energy).
intergroup will share the extraordinary results it has achieved and the considerable expertise it has developed over the past few years handling windmills at Gaeta’s “S. D’Acquisto” Commercial Port and Civitavecchia Port. The company handled all loading and unloading operations through INTERMINAL, the operation terminal of intergroup logistics platform, that was given crucial roles while competing with the major national ports. The operations carried out at the two Middle-Tyrrhenian ports required the synchronized use of gantry cranes weighting 63, 100 and 200 tons and equipped motor vehicles for the transportation of oversized loads, as well as the support of professional crane operators and experienced personnel.
Intergroup offers effective solutions for handling wind turbine parts and components manufactured by leading companies, and also deals with their assembly and transportation.
This is a significant achievement for both intergroup and Gaeta’s Commercial Port, since it allows to differentiate traffic thus increasing supply and meeting the needs of the global market.
intergroup will join this year’s edition, that will be subdivided into four different pavilions extending over a total surface area of more than 30.000 m², together with more than 400 further exhibitors. intergroup, one of the leading companies in its sector, has recently developed an Intermodal Logistics Platform dealing with transport, storage and packaging of goods. It has developed more than 23 years of experience, and currently boasts 4 operational headquarters: Civitavecchia (RM), Gaeta (LT), Formia (LT) and Sessa Aurunca (CE). intergroup is now operating in the major ports of call of the Network of Lazio.
ZEROEMISSION will also include targeted conferences, workshops and meetings revolving around the most urgent climate problems and energy issues that will be held by acclaimed international experts. The parallel organization of such interesting congresses is one of the keys to the success of the event, that has increasingly come to be regarded as an essential resource for professional training. 56 sessions will be held during the event, and 377 speakers will give their precious contributions.
After Hamburg “Dry Bulk Cargo” and TransRussia, the latter being the most important international event for those working in the transport industry, intergroup will join another great international event in order to enrich its knowledge about renewable energy sources, emissions trading and environmental sustainability in Italy and the Mediterranean Basin.
